Embrace September As A Season of Routine and Renewal

Thursday, September 05, 2024

My Dear Fellow Grievers,

Can you believe we’re in September already!

For many of us, September is a time of getting back to normal after the summer's break from routine. Kids go back to school, work picks up pace, and life finds its rhythm again.

This is also a chance for a fresh start. Getting back into a routine can be incredibly grounding, especially if you're navigating the complexities of grief. A routine can provide a sense of stability and predictability, which can be comforting when everything else feels uncertain.

Routines are more than just a series of actions; they're a form of self-care. Having a set pattern for your day can offer a sense of control and purpose. It's about creating small moments of normalcy that remind you that, despite everything, you are still here, still moving forward.

Whether it's a morning walk, setting aside time for meditation, or simply making your bed each day, these actions are like anchors, helping you stay steady amidst the waves of grief. They don't need to be grand or time-consuming; even the smallest of habits can make a big difference.

Make September the start of new routines and they should include routines around your self-care. Check out how here.

As you transition back into a routine, remember to be gentle with yourself. It's okay if not every day goes as planned, and it's okay to need breaks. Routine is there to support you, not to add pressure. Finding balance is key—between work and rest, between obligations and time for yourself.

Remember, every small step you take is a step toward your well-being. Take care of yourself this September, and know that you are not alone on this journey.

Dedicated to Your Peace
