My Dear Fellow Grievers,
When I drive I like the radio on and turned up! I heard Bill Wither’s “Lean on Me” and my mind went where it always goes – to how it fits in our grief journeys.
One of the hardest parts of grief is feeling like you're alone in it—like no one could possibly understand the depth of your loss. But, as Bill sang in his classic song, we don’t have to face it alone!
“Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend. I'll help you carry on…”
It’s a powerful reminder of how important it is to lean on others for support, even when we feel like we need to carry the weight all by ourselves.
Grief can often isolate us, but it’s important to remember that there are people who care and want to help lighten that load.
In fact, sharing your grief is the very thing that helps you heal. The act of leaning on someone—whether for a conversation, a moment of comfort, or just to sit with you in silence—can make all the difference.
It doesn’t take away the pain, but it helps you feel less alone in it.
This week, I invite you to reflect on who you can lean on – is it a friend, a family member, or even our private Facebook community. You can join us here.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, reach out! You don’t have to carry it all by yourself.
And if you’re in a place of strength, I encourage you to offer that shoulder to someone else.
We’re stronger together!
Dedicated to Your Peace
