My Dear Fellow Grievers,

Last night, a storm hit hard where I live beside the ocean. With winds gusting at 40-50 km/hour, the boats anchored in the water were being put to the test.

The tide, affected by the wind, was making it tough for my neighbors to keep their boats from drifting dangerously close to the rocky shore.

I looked out the window and saw one of my neighbors struggling with his boat, trying to fight the wind and current. I rushed out to help, but someone had already stepped in.

So, I went further down the shore and found another neighbor in an even tougher spot, his boat inches away from disaster.

We teamed up, battling the wind and current, and managed to get his boat safely back to his cottage. There’s no way he could have done it alone.

But the story didn’t end there. The first neighbor was still struggling, and by now, four of us were out there, working together. One man jumped into the boat, trying to start the motor, while the rest of us fought to hold the boat steady against Mother Nature.

Finally, the motor roared to life, and they were able to steer the boat to safety.

What I witnessed and am so grateful for is the power of community!

When someone needed help, everyone came together.

Grief can feel like a storm too, one that’s impossible to face alone. I faced my grief storm alone and it was my biggest mistake!
